Phoebe Shivji, M.A., CCC

Please note: Phoebe is currently on maternity leave.

Phoebe is a registered Canadian Clinical Counsellor #7447 and can practice in any province. She grew up in North Vancouver, BC, but was born in the US. She has a Bachelor of Science in Social Work (2001), and graduated with an M.A. in Counselling Psychology in 2007. She has a passion for portrait art, and sometimes provides this during session. Her approach is a strengths based, Solution-Focused model.

Phoebe has experience counselling women, youth and young adults at risk, crisis and safety plan building, anxiety, depression, panic, suicide, loss and grief, self-image and identity, anger management, conflict resolution, work with culturally diverse client populations, facilitate personalized clinical family and youth therapy, and provide resources according to needs. She has worked as a Mental Health Specialist, Group Facilitator, and Partner Check Counsellor in Canada and the US. Phoebe is also currently a licensed Emergency Medical Responder for part time work with BC Ambulance.

Phoebe experienced a radical awakening during a mission trip to Haiti with YWAM in 2010, after the massive earthquake in Port Au Prince. Her heart was rocked by the response of the local people to this disaster and how God moved during this time in that part of the world. She has ministered in therapeutic techniques with many people groups throughout the US, Africa and Europe. She now has an interest in counselling in the developed world, continuing to value what she learned about the character of God within the context of extreme physical poverty. She uses a combination of techniques in counselling, and her heart is to see people walk in the fullness of their true identity.

She is available Thursdays and Fridays for appointments.
