Lucia Simoncicova, MA, RCC
Lucia is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#14749). She was awarded her MA in Psychotherapeutic Studies at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic and also an MA in Art Therapy at Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland.
Lucia is an inspiring, sensitive and compassionate counsellor who is fascinated by the uniqueness of each individual and each person’s potential, which is there to be discovered and developed. The process of therapy Lucia uses, both in short or long term counselling, consists of working on discovering the person’s strengths and exploring the areas of personal challenge (e.g. pattern of behaviour or emotions).
Lucia works with adults, children, adolescents or families (parent-child dyads), who experience challenges in the following areas:
- High sensitivity
- Grief and Loss (including pre-natal or post-natal)
- Communication and Interaction
- Anger management
- Effects of Bullying
Creativity is crucial to Lucia’s approach and she uses a variety of modalities such as Attachment-based therapy, Humanistic, Integrative, Cognitive-behavioural therapies or Expressive Arts therapy. She also incorporates Christian principles for those clients who are open to that.
